FMMS-100 Series Rotary Separators
Separate Finished Parts From Wet or Dry Tumbling Media
Bel Air FMMS-100 Series rotary separators provide fast, continuous separation of finished parts and tumbling media. As material moves through the rotating screen tube, parts turn over repeatedly, allowing trapped media to escape from holes, recesses, and other difficult geometries.
Portable, self-contained configurations can be positioned at the discharge of vibratory or barrel finishing equipment. Multiple tube sizes, interchangeable screens, and single- or two-stage configurations make it possible to match the separator to your parts, media, production rate, and available floor space.
Product Advantages:
- Rapid separation of finished parts and tumbling media
- Rotating action helps empty media from part recesses
- Helps reduce screen blinding compared with flat-screen separation
- Portable, self-contained construction
- Adjustable operating angle for controlling material residence time
- Interchangeable screen tubes for different parts and media
- Flow-through operation for continuous material handling
- Single- and two-stage configurations

Rotary Separation for Complex Part Geometries
FMMS-100 Series separators use a rotating cylindrical screen to separate finished components from tumbling media. The tumbling action continually turns the parts as they travel through the tube, helping release media lodged in internal features, holes, recesses, and other difficult-to-separate areas.
The units can be loaded from the discharge of a vibratory or barrel finishing machine or incorporated into a larger material-handling system. Adjustable legs allow the tube angle—and therefore the time material remains inside the separator—to be adapted to the application.
Lightweight, interchangeable screen tubes make it easier to change between part and media combinations. Custom screen openings can also be provided for specialized separation requirements.
Common Applications:
- Separating finished parts from wet or dry tumbling media
- Removing worn or undersized media from usable media
- Separating media from recessed or complex components
- Degating molded or die-cast parts
- Separating runners and flash from finished components
- Adding external separation to vibratory or barrel finishing equipment
FMMS-100 Rotary Separator Models
The FMMS-100 Series separators are available in three configurations. The appropriate model depends on the required capacity, available floor space, and whether the application requires one or two separation stages.
- FMMS-100-1: Compact single-stage model for lower-volume applications.
- FMMS-100-2: Larger single-stage model for higher production rates.
- FMMS-100-2D: Two-stage model for removing fines or worn media while separating parts, or for separating runners and flash from molded or die-cast components.
