Centrifugal barrel machines are used in a wide range of industrial applications, from aggressive deburring and surface improvement to very intricate finishing of extremely delicate parts. The design allows greatly reduced cycle times when compared to conventional vibratory machines, and can be used in both wet and dry processes.
The four barrels are mounted on a large turret. Once media, parts, and water are established, the rotation of the turret creates a substantial force within the barrels, which rotate in the opposite direction, causing high-energy finishing with reduced cycle times. Barrels are driven via synchronous belt.
This machine features barrels with .375″ thick replaceable urethane liners and is constructed of a heavy-duty steel weldment with a durable powder-coated finish.
