Objective
Bel Air Finishing was tasked with developing a deburring solution for tool steel CNC machined firearm components, including triggers, sears, struts, disconnectors, and pin stops. The goal is to reduce processing time, minimize part-on-part contact, and prepare each part for subsequent coating applications.
| Industry | Firearms |
| Part Description | Sear, Trigger, Strut, Disconnector, Pin Stop |
| Fabrication Method | CNC Machined |
| Material | Stainless Steel |
| Process Technology | Deburring, Surface Preparation, Wet Grinding |
| Equipment Type | Centrifugal Disc Finisher |
Solution
Bel Air Finishing worked with Bob’s Cop Shop to implement a centrifugal disc finishing process to efficiently deburr and prepare a range of CNC-machined firearm components. By utilizing the Centrifugal Disc Finisher, we reduced processing time while minimizing part-on-part contact, which enhances part integrity and reduces surface wear. This high-energy, automated finishing approach provides a consistent, smooth surface that is ideal for coating applications, allowing Bob’s Cop Shop to achieve reliable, high-quality finishes with greater efficiency.
If you are unsure what equipment and media you require to achieve your desired surface finish, then send us your part, and we will evaluate it and provide you with a metrology report.
