Solution
Bel Air developed an automated finishing process to deburr and condition CNC-machined steel pistol slides that previously required extensive manual edge work. The objective was to remove machining marks, soften sharp edges, and improve surface uniformity without affecting critical dimensions or functional features.
Using controlled mass finishing methods, the process uniformly refined slide surfaces and internal features across complex geometries. This approach effectively removed burrs and machining artifacts while preparing the surface for downstream finishing or coating operations.
The optimized workflow significantly reduced manual labor and rework while increasing throughput, making it well suited for firearms manufacturing environments where consistency, part function, and production efficiency are critical.
