Solution
To meet the high standards required for racing motor engine valves, Bel Air Finishing developed an automated ultra-polish process using the AutoHone™ machine. This process applies a specially formulated dry polishing media to achieve an Ra surface finish of 1-2 µin on the valve stems and seats, enhancing the valves’ performance by reducing friction and improving durability. This automated solution replaces costly hand polishing with a consistent, ultra-smooth, and precisely cylindrical finish that exceeds conventional grinding capabilities.
