Aluminum Hitch – Dry Deburring

A customer wanted to transition from wet tumbling to a dry tumbling process for surface preparation of cast and machined aluminum hitch components. The goal was to achieve a consistent, clean finish while eliminating water usage and streamlining final finishing and cleanup.

Bel Air implemented a dry finishing process for the hitch components using ECO-FLEX™ dry tumbling media, formulated for water-free finishing of aluminum and a wide range of other metals. A vibratory tumbler was used to remove surface oxidation and smooth casting and machining marks, producing a bright, uniform finish. With no water or wastewater involved, the process reduced cleanup, improved part handling, and supported a cleaner, more sustainable workflow for production environments.
