Motor Parts S.A., a member of the Basso Group, partnered with Bel Air Finishing to refine the surface finish of high-performance titanium racing engine valve stems.
Using high-energy finishing technology with custom dry media, Bel Air developed a repeatable superpolishing process that reduced average surface roughness by 80%. The result helps support the demanding performance requirements of competition-engine applications.
This application demonstrates how Bel Air works with customers to develop finishing processes around the specific material, part geometry, surface target, and production requirements of each part.
Supporting a Growing Medical Manufacturing Operation in Brazil

In São Paulo, Brazil, a dental implant manufacturer is using Bel Air’s Vertical Drag Finisher to address a media-supply challenge associated with honing and polishing ground bone taps.
The application involves high-speed steel (HSS) cutting tools used in medical manufacturing. As the company works to rapidly scale its new mass finishing operation, the process supports cutting-tool edge preparation and coating-polishing requirements.
The company is also evaluating future orders of Bel Air’s AutoHone™ Robotic Deburring & Polishing Machine as it moves toward fully automated processing.
