KATO deburring holders and carbide rotary burrs, combined with Bel Air application support and abrasive filament brushes, help manufacturers automate edge-finishing operations.
Bel Air Finishing recently welcomed KATO, its OEM partner for the FM-DBR7 Series CNC deburring holders, to its North Kingstown facility. The visit highlights the companies’ partnership and their shared focus on helping manufacturers integrate deburring, chamfering, and edge finishing into CNC machining and automated workflows.
Through the partnership, Bel Air Finishing offers the FM-DBR7-1D Series and FM-DBR7-SC Series CNC deburring tool holders, along with FM-DBR-W616 Series Carbide Rotary Burrs. Bel Air complements these products with application expertise, process support, and abrasive filament brush configurations for CNC machining centers, robotic systems, and in-machine deburring applications.
The FM-DBR7-1D Series Deburring Tool Holder is designed to deburr the top and bottom of machined holes in one continuous pass, reducing tool changes and manual finishing. Its telescopic compression and tension mechanism helps accommodate workpiece dimensional variation while maintaining consistent deburring action across variable production runs.
For front-side deburring and chamfering, the FM-DBR7-SC Series Deburring Holder uses an adjustable spring-load mechanism to maintain consistent cutting pressure across parts with minor height or dimensional variation. Its telescopic design helps reduce chatter and over-cutting while supporting smooth, repeatable edge-finishing results.
The FM-DBR-W616 Series Carbide Rotary Burrs are designed for use with both DBR7 holder series, supporting automated front-side and dual-side deburring applications. Available in single-cut and cross-cut variations, the burrs feature a 90-degree cutting tip for deburring, chamfering, and edge finishing on materials ranging from aluminum to stainless steel and hardened alloys. Standard and long-shank configurations provide options for deep or complex part geometries.
KATO CNC deburring holders and carbide rotary burrs will be showcased at Bel Air Finishing’s booth, Booth 237547, during IMTS 2026. Attendees can see the tools and discuss application requirements with the Bel Air team.
Bel Air supplies abrasive filament brushes for deburring, edge-breaking, and radiusing. Available configurations include Tufted (DOT), V-Tuft, Shell Mill, Stem-Mounted, Radial Wheel, Staple Set, and Max Density brushes, with options suited for light, moderate, and aggressive deburring requirements. Selected brush configurations can be customized for specific application requirements.
“Working with KATO allows Bel Air to give manufacturers a more complete CNC deburring solution, combining proven tooling with the application support needed to achieve repeatable results,” said Steven Alviti, Vice President of Bel Air Finishing. “Together, these solutions help customers reduce secondary manual operations while maintaining the edge quality their parts require.”
