At the Bel Air Finishing lab, we recently worked with a customer producing 3D printed acrylic components for layout assemblies. Their goal was to achieve a uniform matte finish across each part.

To meet this need, we ran a full post-processing sequence tailored for acrylic materials—starting with our high-energy Centrifugal Disc Finisher. This step delivers consistent surface refinement, smoothing out layer lines while preserving fine features.

After disc finishing, the parts went through an ultrasonic cleaning process—ideal for removing residual media and contaminants without harming delicate surfaces. We then moved into a rinse and drying stage, with parts dried in a Vibratory Finisher using dry media.

The result? A clean, smooth matte finish that meets both visual and functional requirements.
