Metrology Services

Bel Air Finishing now offers surface metrology services, utilizing non-contact white light interferometry technology. Our metrology department will demonstrate how to qualify the surface finish you desire and your customer’s demand. Our metrology equipment can be used on the shop floor, eliminating the need to move your product into a separate inspection line. This technology offers many benefits over single-line surface metrology technology, such as stylus type profilometers.

With our metrology equipment, you can take various measurements, including but not limited to:

• Roughness over an area.
• Roughness on parts with complex geometry (convex, concave, etc.)
• Properties of the surface finish (direction & depth of finish, etc.)
• 3D View of a defect (helps identify the cause)
